Viral Species: Lábrea fever a.k.a. Lábrea black fever/ Lábrea hepatitis/Santa Marta fever.
Found in/transmitted by: Is a superinfection of hepatitis D and hepatitis B, thus transmission is caused by exposure to infectious blood or body fluids containing blood. Transmitted via unprotected sexual contact, blood transfusions, contaminated syringes, and vertical transmission (mother-to-child).
Symptoms: Sudden onset of jaundice (yellow skin), anorexia (lack of appetite), haematemesis (blood vomits), headache, fever, and severe prostration (revere kneeling of the body). The final phase involves neurological symptoms such as agitation, delirium, convulsions, and haemorrhagic comas. Death is caused by acute liver failure.
Mortality Rate: May kill in less than a week, characteristically affects children and young adults and targets more males than females. Highly lethal.
Some Backstory: She was born from both hep D and hep B viruses, but has no recollection as to who her parents were, and specifically doesn’t care much about that tiny detail. Being born from inside a local of Santa Marta, she took upon the name of the town as her own. Very manipulative, she is able to coax other cells to complete the job for her, leaving her to only get her hands dirty with the final strike. Job description aside, she holds a sensual yet sinister attitude in her speech and stride, but this attitude changes when she drinks as she absolutely loves happy hours.

Extra bits:
• Marta usually avoids getting her hands dirty until the final strike. She prefers using wit and manipulation to get things the way she wants to. If, however, she was forced to fend for herself, she would attack in retaliation.
• Don’t let her garb fool you. Unlike other viruses with claws, Marta’s mode of weaponry is her speed and agility. She is able to contort her body and perform acrobatic feats in order to disable opponents and even kill them.
• Along with that, she is able to perform transduction when a virus is able to transfigure itself into another cell. This helps in how she is able to manipulate others to do her bidding. The only way you can tell through her guise is that her eyes are still present.
• Marta’s hair flows around her is if it has a mind of its own, but it adds to her alluring image.
• She has a thing for gullible men. Not only does it feed her manipulative mind, but deep down she finds them extremely cute.
